Welcome to Chiswell Green u3a
A beautiful autumnal photograph looking across the park to our wonderful cathedral. This photograph was taken by one of our very own u3a members.
Chiswell Green is located two miles south of St Albans, Hertfordshire and is part of the Parish of St Stephen, which also includes the adjacent villages of Park Street and Bricket Wood.
Set up in April 2014, we now have 400 members. We are a registered charity (No. 1165924). Monthly meetings are held at Greenwood Park Community Centre, Tippendell Lane, on the first Thursday of every month from 10 until 12. Guest speakers are invited to talk on a variety of subjects and refreshments are provided.
We are run by an elected committee for the benefit of our members and are financed by membership subscriptions.
The committee meets regularly to manage Chiswell Green u3a's activities in accordance with a written constitution. It is supported in its work by the Third Age Trust, a national umbrella organisation for the hundreds of u3as around the country.
The chairman would be delighted to hear from members interested in serving on the committee.
Are you retired or semi-retired and would like to socialise and take part in new activities and events? Members share their life experiences - the teachers learn and the learners teach. You must be a Chiswell Green u3a member to take part in any of our Interest Groups. See the Join Us page for more information.
We produce a monthly Newsletter. Previous Newsletters can be viewed by clicking on the Newsletters page.
